MONSTER UND SPORT – technical exhibition cooperation

MONSTER AND SPORT is the title of an exhibition room, that was curated by a group of children. they had the opportunity to select specific pieces of actual artwork out of the GFZK collection to present to the audience in combination with the task, how to present this. very interessting! it was all about participation, action, monsters and sports. so it came along that HELLOSTUDIOS helped a little bit with the technology! so there are real monsters, that run around, a hometrainer, that produces music and and a special presentation box. just visit the exhibtion, it is for free each wednesday!

DOODLEBOARD – first testrun finished

after several months of development and testing we could finally finish our first testrun with our Doodleboard. our two group from morocco and germany helped us to optimize the whole project and showed us some new topics we have to work on. after planning and researching we decided to open up the complete Doodleboard engine to other participants. at the fist sight this will be on our hand, but we like to make the project totally independent. let us see.

TOOLBOX INTERACTION DESIGN – programming tutorials and know how online collection

we are very proud to present this cooperation project with Prof. Steffi Husslein and the Hochschule Magdeburg-Stendal. months ago we realized, that there a need for a central place where to find help and tutorials for working with Actionscript / Processing and other programming languages. that is why we started the TOOLBOX project to start um with a small collection of howto’s and tutorials.

this project is meant to grow with the student and their abilities and it is now integrated in the teaching process.

FUNKFEATURE – radio workshop with bauhaus dessau

Im Rahmen des Projekts „[funk]feature“ beschäftigten sich Schüler der Klasse 9R der Friedensschule Dessau mit ihrer Stadt. Innerhalb des regulären Kunstunterrichts arbeiteten sie in vier Kleingruppen zu selbstgewählten Themen. Sie suchten das Gespräch mit Einwohnern und Besuchern Dessau-Roßlaus und nahmen Interviews, Geräusche, Statements und eigene Kommentare auf. Aus den einzelnen Aufnahmen der Schüler entstand während des Projektverlaufs eine Audio-Collage zur Stadt Dessau-Roßlau aus der Sicht der Jugendlichen.

the project „[funk]feature“ was a cooperation with the Bauhaus Dessau and a local school class from Friedensschule Dessau. together we produce a 15min radio feature made of self produced sounds, interviews, texts and comments. the working period was within the normal school programm and took about 10 weeks.

first some instruction, how to use digital recorders, how to interview somebody, … boring but necessary.

lets go outside. the students had to go for themselves to get sound. they could choose their topic freely.

editing the sounds makes clear, whether its good or not.

with the usage of our HELLO NAGNAG V2.0 livesampler we could compose the whole feature on the fly. by the way, you can DOWNLOAD our NAGNAG V2.0 for free over HERE. but sorry, its just for PC. (you won’t find it in any Applestore).

ROBOTS ARE AMONG US – how to built a robug workshop

In cooperation with the GFZK FÜR DICH we presented our first – do it together – workshop and its all about beam bots. in our two day session each participant built two BRISTLEBOTS that can participate in a race and even fight! Look at the great bot’s we made!

Soldering and working with simple electronic circuits is fun… haha.

On top of that we constructed a more complex robug – the BEETLEBOT too. this robot runs all around the floor and can avoid walls and obstacles. here are some pictures.

There is the construction work, we gave personality later.

Thanks everybody for this nice workshop, it was a pleasure and for this we got this GREAT video from our bots! hehe! watch out!

Informationen sind ominpräsent und beeinflussen unseren Alltag zunehmend. Informationen fliessen zum Nutzer selbst ohne das dieser überhaut interagiert. Diese Flut an verschiedensten Wissenselementen muss für den Mensch aufbereitet und zugänglich gemacht werden. Die erweiterte Realität – augmented reality – behaftet den realen Raum mit virtuellen Informationen und schafft somit neue Geographie von Wissens- und Kommunikationsstruckturen. Die Bedeutung Identität und Realität ist die zentrale Fragestellung zur aktuellen Entwicklung. Wie wird Interaktion im Raum stattfinden und welche Technologien und Benutzeroberflächen spielen für kommende ARS (augmented reality system) eine Rolle?

Ziel des Projektes ist krittische Auseinandersetzung zur erweiterten Realität (AR) von der Gegenwart bis zur nahen Zukunft. Dabei gilt es sinnvolle und zukunftsweisende Ideen zu reflektieren und aufzuzeigen um einen nachvollziehbaren Zugang zum Medium und dessen Möglichkeiten zu schaffen. Die Darstellung einer eigenen Idee oder Vision ist das zentrale Resultat des Projektes. Der Einsatz von Videoarbeiten, interaktiven Anwendungen, Objekten oder Printmedien ist abhängig von der jeweiligen Projektidee.

TREBNITZ – unexpected countryside – fashion photoworkshop
